The discipline of Physics at Zhejiang Normal University (ZJNU) was founded in 1956, which has been a first-class discipline (class A) in Zhejiang province. The first-class discipline Ph.D. program and post-doctoral research station has been built. It possesses four provincial key laboratories (engineering center), one provincial key experimental demonstrational center, and two provincial key scientific and technological innovation teams.
Under the leadership of the Academician Gong Changde and Yang Xueming, the discipline has achieved persistent progresses in five research fields, including atomic and molecular physics, theoretical physics, condensed matter physics, optics, and physical electronics. Featured researches have formed in the fields of low dimensional anomalous quantum transport properties, nonlinear physics, functional materials, and spectral detection.
The number of tenure is 76, including 31 with senior titles, 73 with Doctor's degree, and 15 selected as Provincial-levels Talents Program. In the recent five years, 196 postgraduate students from 75 universities and 27 provinces in China have been enrolled in physics discipline. Up to now, 8 doctoral students have been enrolled in two semesters.
